I hope you enjoyed it while it lasted, because I'm predicting that the Golden Era of Manning, Brady, Brees, Roethlisberger and... oh, I don't know... let's just say Philip Rivers, is over. The kids are ready to take over.

I don't think "Philip Rivers" and "golden era" go together...

Personally, I would say Brady is not leaving any time soon.

They may all be around a bit longer, but I don't think they'll be relevant. I'm speaking as a Pats fan.

I debated including him, but he's been on one team and more or less effective his entire career. I did list him last.

Ewww. You're a Pats fan? I think Brady is the last of them, but I agree on the relevance part. Its too bad it had to go this way. I couldn't be more disappointed with Peyton's performance being a Colts fan.

I like Peyton and I was pulling for him and the Broncos. He can't block and play quarterback. The numbers he can control are good. Without him Denver was maybe a .500 team this year. Maybe.

When I first read your post I thought "really, someone considered the last decade a golden age?!" But I know it's all the perspective from which you're looking. You probably grew up on those guys. To me the golden age was the era of Montana, Marino, Elway, Kelly, Moon, Esiason, Kosar, Fouts, McMahon, Krieg, Young and Simms.

It is indeed all about perspective. Every player you mentioned was great. None of them quarterbacked my team.

Agreed. I wanted Peyton to have another ring so badly, but he couldnt pull it through. He doesn't have the team to back him (especially on the defensive side of the ball) and the Seahawks offense was just lighting it up. Wilson's stats weren't all that impressive but he didn't need them to be with the way their rubbing game went. Too bad for Peyton. I'd say he's got maybe one more shot before he's headed for retirement.
